Google has recently made an exciting announcement about their new product, Bard. This cutting-edge technology has the potential to revolutionize the way people interact with technology and access information. As a language model AI trained by OpenAI, I am particularly intrigued by the implications of Bard and how it compares to other similar products such as ChatGPT and Microsoft’s offerings. In this article, we will explore what is it, how it works, and what sets it apart from the competition.
Google’s announcement on Bard
Apart from ChatGPT, It is one more cutting-edge AI-powered conversational language service that promises to revolutionize the way people interact with Google products. Bard is an artificial intelligence service based on LaMBDA i.e. Language Model for Dialogue Applications which Google has already developed a few years back.
Google has positioned Bard as a major player in the competitive field of conversational AI, which includes big names like Microsoft’s ChatGPT. Basically, Google will release a lightweight model version of LaMDA. Since this lightweight service needs low computing power, it will help to cater to more users which in turn will act as a feedback loop to their backend systems. That’s how ChatGPT is also training itself and similarly, Bard will.
The announcement of Bard has been met with a great deal of excitement in the tech community, with many experts hailing it as a significant breakthrough in conversational AI. Google has also revealed that Bard has been trained on massive data, allowing it to develop a deep understanding of human language and behaviour.
Bard in Google Search
Google is pushing the limits of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with their latest offerings. Building AI services is already a legacy in Google for improving search for billions of users. The first one was BERT which has revolutionary capabilities in understanding the complexities of human language. Later MUM is introduced which is 1k times more powerful than BERT. Now Bard will be the successor of all AI services being used in Search.
Google has also introduced other AI technologies like PaLM, Imagen and MusicLM to cater to unconventional types of data like images, audio and video, etc.
As per the announcement, the company is now working on incorporating these latest AI advancements into its products, starting with Search. One of the most exciting aspects of AI is its potential to transform information into valuable knowledge more efficiently. People are turning to Google for deeper insights and understanding, beyond just quick factual answers.
With AI, Google aims to help people get to the heart of what they’re searching for and make it easier for them to get things done. Soon, Google Search will be equipped with AI-powered features that will simplify complex information and multiple perspectives into easy-to-digest formats. This will enable users to quickly grasp the big picture and learn more about a particular topic by seeking out additional perspectives, or exploring related topics in greater detail.
Now think that if Google has all of the information in all formats like text, image, audio/video and then they have a most advanced AI transformer that will get you all that you need in just a single click.
For sure, this is going to make it very easy for the end user but I am a little worried about the people and their websites, blogs, articles etc. in which they have put their efforts. Will Google ever send any user to any website or blog to search for information? If not, then it’s a big big loss for the creator of the content. Please comment down what you think about it.
